These icons were designed with the principles of Islamic art in mind. Islam traditionally discourages depicting the human figure in a naturalistic way. When it is necessary to represent a person, such as to convey a specific motion, figures are often heavily stylized. Geometric patterns play a significant role in Islamic art, which is why these pictograms incorporate geometric forms.
